All the signs have been there for months, going back to when the automaker announced it was offshoring Focus production and canceling plans to redesign the Fusion. Wouldn't have even been necessary if they'd have reduced the number of potential build combinations for each model from 857 per model.. down to around 15 or 20 possible combinations just a bit earlier than they did. And building boring run of the mill crap just compounded the problem even further. Offering SVT versions of every model sure wouldn't have hurt sales either. You'd think they could figure that out by the very reasoning for which many like their Mustang so much.
