Hi I stumbled across this forum and the pictures brought back memories of my first new car, a 1972 Maverick Grabber. This little beauty hod a 302 V8 engine and a floor mounted three speed transmission. The interior was white with dark blue carpet. The exterior was dark blue with gold trim. I drove this car for five years. Getting married cost me my little beauty since my wife could not drive a manual transmission. Since my wife and I have now been married 30 years I made the correct choice, but I still miss my Maverick. Since I am not mechanical I would not be able to rebuild this little gun, so my effort is limited to building a detailed version from several plastic model Kits. One question, is there any wayto trove a VIN to see what might have happened to this vehicle? It is good to see all of the Maverick fans still out there deke
welcome to the board. i don't know of any way to trace the vin, unless you can run the vin through one of those companies that will give you an accident report by vin. maybe it can tell you where the car has been.
A police officer can run the VIN and see the last time it was registered, and to who, or who it is currently registered to.
I had to have a VIN inspection done on my car car .....the local police were more than happy to assist......one less vehicle they had to haul off to the crusher....:bananaman :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman
I think if it came down to not being able to keep my car because my wife can't drive a stick, I would go buy a C4 and bolt it in. Problem solved.
I suppose it is a what if to think that my wife could learn to drive a manual transmission. She might even have bewitched me, who knows. I can't complain though. Working on my model kit is good therapy anyway. Thanks for the replies on the VIN. Have a good Thanksgiving
