I made a few changes to the forums today, with the biggest change being the creation of a new sub-forum called “All Maverick / Comet Posts”. This forum, located near the top of the MMB, is an empty “container sub-forum” that pulls in the posts from the all Maverick /Comet sub-forums. Specifically, the posts are pulled in from here, here, here and here.

When browsing this sub-forum, you will be able to see which sub-forum the thread is being pulled in from. As this “container sub-forum” is not a regular sub-forum, you cannot create a new thread in it. Instead, you will have to go the appropriate sub-forum to create a new thread. This forum will only be visible to members who are logged in.

I also re-shuffled a few sub-forums. The "Readers Corner" sub-forum has been merged with the "Hollywood Mavericks" sub-forum, which has been renamed to "Mavericks / Comets in the Movies and Other Media". The "Tool and Shop Talk" sub-forum has been moved under "Other Automotive Tech & Talk".

A new sub-forum, "Non-Ford Engines" to discuss shoehorning other types of engines into Mavericks/Comets has been created under "Other Automotive Tech & Talk".

Finally, in order to have a consistency in forum moderation, all forums on the MMB will now be moderated by Acornridgeman, courier11sec and myself.

Some of these changes required modification the forum software, so if you see any errors or if the forum seems slower, please let me know ASAP!

If you have any questions, comments, etc, please let me know via the forums or PM.

Technically they are still there, but they have not been updated in years due to a compatibility problem introduced in a forum upgrade. That is why I removed the link.

Get rid of the "Non-Ford Engines" seems like a waste, since only 3 guys have Chev motors, and most guys that own Mavericks are FORD guys, that have a FORD in their FORD. It's not like it's a hot topic.
Way too much stuff on here already. Also get rid of the 60's Comet section, it doesn't belong, totally different family of cars, there are sites for them.

There are also Mavericks with Dodge and Toyota motors too.

The problem is that many of them register here and have nowhere to post. If you hang out in the "All Maverick/Comet Posts" forum, or click on "New Maverick/Comet Posts" you will never see non Maverick/Comet related content.

This is what is key about the new changes. We will try and keep the Maverick and Comet forums clean of all non-Maverick and Comet threads. If you are only interested in reading the Maverick / Comet content on the mmb - just use the right forum tool and you will no longer see all the other stuff. The "New Maverick/Comet Posts" tool does not show you content from the misc / off topic forums.

Don't worry, we will be deleting more of the content that has no purpose. But there are many grey areas that some members find interesting and we will continue to give them a forum to post that in.

    :)

I like the new "All Maverick/Comet Posts" forum.

This makes it easier for me, to see a running list of the latest on-topic posts, without having to refresh the main page, and then jump into each forum. Good idea Stefan! :)

    Ok, 5 cars...:sarcasticclap:

I think the real problem is, they don't read, and find out this forum doesn't include those cars....
