    What the title sez.

Not a major complaint - it'd be nice to have though.

You could export the messages and then open the file in notepad and then search your messages.

That's why your the Big Cheese and I'm but a lowly peon in this wild world web. ;)

Yeah, I suppose I could - but a SEARCH feature doesn't 'sound' like much trouble to add (for the programmers) and would be a nice one-click feature.

sounds to me like you are trying to ...search... something for someone that could do it themselves.

Nah, I was searching for a "real" name of someone that had PM'd me and they didn't list their name in the thread I started, "What's your front name?", a while back.

You're right Rick, it would be an easy thing to do (I can say that because I did it on my board), but Stefan's not the programmer. Someone has to submit a feature request and wait for vbulletin to do it.

A proper search function would have to take into account security settings of the user groups I have set up, which complicates things.

I guess you do a table scan of the PM table? Which database do you use?

Is your first statement talking about searching PM's?

Since users can only have a limited number of PM's, I just load their inbox or sent box and do a text search of the subject and/or message body. I can't remember offhand where I'm storing them, but it's file-based.
