so ive taken my front air dam project that we made for mashori's maverick to the point of being able to reproduce them. now its a matter of volume to cost of producing them. i know its some love some hate design, but its what it is and its some thing i can offer to the maverick community. heres some pics of the air dam on mashori's car live action shot of the air dam at about 115mph during the 2012 Silver State Classic Challenge. so these are not cheap to make. so im feeling out how many people would be interested. basically if i can get at least 3 made at a time it will cost $350 for each. so does anybody want one?
nice looking dam.. to my eye it appears very functional. I'm not ready at this time. What is it it made out of?
aluminum. the first time mashori did the silver state with out the air dam, his hood would flutter up and down so fast at any speed above 115 he was not comfortable going any faster. with the air dam he went 140 for over 15 min straight and felt very well planted to the ground. the hood would rise at the rear at any speed over 50 with out the air dam. with the air dam you can actually see the hood suck down at freeway speeds.
Maybe, and I'm just spit-ballin' here, if you could incorporate some brake cooling air ducts into the design you might get a few more bites. Otherwise, if I weren't trying selling my Comet, and could afford it I'd definitely be interested.
it would be very easy to add brake cooling ducts or any other shape to the spoiler. its aluminum and would be easy to modify any way you want.
I'm not in the market. But I did want to say it looks great, and I commend you on making a cool new product for the Mav/Comet world to have. Glenn
Flexibility in that design is nice. I understand that it worked out slick for mashoris car but if you need even more functionality?(wait?.. is he moving up a class again this year?..lol).. maybe think slightly bigger(length and depth) while incorporating either brake ducts or driving light openings that can still look good even if someone decides not to fill them. A universal design built around some standardized driving light style could also be used for either or. Especially if you molded the ducts as bolt in to accept lights or cooling ducts.
mashori has declared that he is done with racing and is actually making the maverick back to just a daily driver cruiser. i will be picking up with the racing he was doing. i will have him navigate the SSCC for me when i do it. this spoiler at the ride height on mashoris car just clears parking blocks. the intent was to make an add on piece that has a spliter that would be only put on for races. with the blank front of the spoiler anybody can put what ever holes for brake ducts or lights that they want to personalize it.
