Front Bumper (Valance Guards) ...

    I've discussed these before and have thought about installing them on the Yellow Mav. They are called bumper guards but are really Valance guards ... and mount below the bumper and across the valance just like early mustangs.

    Well ... I got a complete set of all necessary parts for $10 so I figured I'd try them out .... I will post pics tonight after I bolt them on .... they came via UPS today ...

    Gottem' installed ... definitely the retro look! At first I thought they didn't look good ... but after about 10 minutes of staring at them I like them ....

    The bottom bolts to the holes on each side of the valance that didn't seem to serve any purpose ... until now. The top bolts to the uppermost hole (again served no purpose until now) on the inside of the bumper bracket ... It is actually very sturdy and the front valance becomes solid as a rock. Not sure if you can see in the pictures but they don't actually touch the valance ... there is a small gap. There is a large contact area where the guards bolt to the bumper bracket and the valance carries none of the weight at all ..

    Yeah, that's the ones on my Sprint. I just bought a pair of NOS one for the front for $40. I thought that was a good deal too. Cheaper than rechroming them.

    Yeah ... NOS bumper guards are usually pretty cheap on eBay ... nobody wants them for some reason ... Even Green Sales sells them for $10 each ...

    I like them...

    ....front and rear. I would put the small ones on the back of mine but they are not correct in small for my year. I don't like the big guards.

    Ray ... the part number you need is D2DZ-17984-A ... unlike the front the rear are the same on both sides so you need 2 of them ... :)

    No problem ... according to their website they have 10 ... which actually means they have more than that .... I bought mine from them about 1 1/2 years ago ... pretty sure they were 10 bucks each ...
