I recently had to replace the tie rods on my 74 Maverick and when I let the car down the tie rods interfer with the pitman arm and the idler arm. The guy who built the car swears up and down its a 74 front end but I think he interchanged some parts. The parts I removed appeared to have been hand bent I really don't want to bend the new ones. If anyone has any ideas or comments I would really appreciate the input. Also, if you have a shop manuals with a good picture or you have a 74 Maverick with a manual steering front end post a picture of it. My email is darrell.popovich@sprintnet.net. Thank You.

Its sounds like he change parts on you. He put power steering linkage which would enterfer with the pitman arm. You need to ask him if he used power steering linkage or manual linkage. There is a differance.
