Is there something that needs to go on threaded fuel line connections to assure that there will not be leaks. I was thinking teflon tape might dematerialize or something. I'm screwing a brass adapter on the fuel pump so I can use hose.
I use liquid teflon on fuel and oil fittings. Teflon tape sometimes will have strands that break off and go where you don't want them to.
On pipe fittings for fuel use the teflon pipe dope. It's a paste that is put on the male threads. Tape can come apart and get into the lines, needle ans setys, fuel pump or block passages in the system. It doesnt always happen, but when it does it can be hard to find the problem.
Ditto on teflon paste pipe thread sealer. I keep a can handy for everything. Always hated trying to use the tape.
