I've spent quite a bit of time looking at the Galleries, and I really think they could benefit from some restructuring. I can't believe all the incomplete cars, car parts, junkyard photos, and just plain junk that is mixed in there with all the nice Mavericks/Comets. There should be a separate gallery devoted to parts, incomplete cars, parts-cars, and cars that are still torn apart awaiting reassembly. I also think there should be individual gallery sections for the '69.5-'72, '73, and '74-77 Mavericks/Comets (or at least separate big bumper and small bumper sections). There should also be separate galleries for 2-doors & 4-doors. I don't know that it's really necessary to have the Grabbers separate from the non-Grabbers, but that's fine if people like it that way. This is a great site, but there's always room for improvement. This idea could really make it more organized and perhaps breathe some additional life into it. There are some really pristine cars in there, and I just think they deserve better than to be mixed in with all the rust-buckets and miscellaneous parts and "still life" scenes.
Thanks for the suggestions, this is something I have been wanting to do for a while. I will tackle the cleanup and re-org once I convert over to the new forums. The new gallery software is a lot more user friendly, which will make this a lot easier.
That’s a lot of metadata to sort through. Maybe a GUI that will allow users to categorize what they’ve already uploaded or specifically “for all future uploads”. I don’t know the picture count but there may be several ways to cross reference fields from the user CP and tag them accordingly. My guess, this will be much more difficult than expected.
