Do a quick search on 70 Maverick gas tanks, you have quiet a few options other than getting a new exact replacement tank.

If it is a pin hole then take it out and seal it with POR 15 gas tank sealer. I had lots of pin holes. It worked great for me. Make sure you follow directions though. The drop in tanks are hard to find but I think someone on here has one for sale for $150. Check the for sale section.

If your gas tank leaks and is beyond repair...guess what...it can be repaired!! Max Merritt Auto Parts has a franchise of Gas Tank Renu-USA...which can fix any gas tank. Tanks are sealed inside and out against corrosion. As they say it, "We can repair any fuel tank no matter how rusted, rotted, leaky, or how much loose rust material is in the tank. It comes with a lifetime guarantee. Check it out at:

With Craig on this! I've had numerous tanks done this way, never a problem! And you never have to worry about moisture rusting tank an plugging carb!

A mustang tank will not fit without major modifications.
