i have a maverick gas tank that i need to clean inside. It has been setting up for a long time. Is their anything that i can put in it to soak then flush something like a radiator flush. I have a pressure washer with just cold water and the tank is off the car

I took mine and filled it with about 3 bags of fish-tank gravel. Shook it for about 2 hours (a cement mixer would help here!). the bought an epoxy compound from a well known company, can't remember who right now, and lined the inside with that. It had a "naval jelly" type preparation, then an epoxy sealer. It cleaned out the rust, and then sealed it with an epoxy. No problems since, and it sealed any small holes and pits.

PM me and I will research what company sold me the kit.

bmcdaniel is right about if its rusty.

If it is just black varnished up old gas - I prefer to pull the tank and dump a gallon of laquer thinner in it and shake it all about... put your right foot in , take your right foot out...OK I'm back now. I just saw a disco ball and and a pair of roller skates. something about shakin' it all about.....

Oh yea - I suggest a new fuel filter too. I have been buying the clear see through ones from Advance auto. Then I can see how much and what kind of crud is coming through from the tank.
