Speedo works fine, but the gas gauge and basically everything else in the cluster doesn't work. All fuses are unblown, and I checked diagrams and made sure every wire was in the right place. Backlights turn on only if high beams are on, and there's always a faint light behind the turn arrows, but never flashes. The red warning light and buzzer work fine. Any suggestions?

Have you had the instriment cluster out? Has it turned to a white powder dust (like most 1976 instrument clusters)?

Hey CCHEEKS, I had the very same problem. I pulled the cluster and the circuit "board" on mine was fine and the bulbs looked fine, but still no light. I bought new lights and the bases that the bulbs sit in and very very lightly sanded the contact areas on the circuit board and that took care of the light problem. As far as the gas gauge goes, the sending unit in my tank was bad. Once I replaced that the gauge worked just fine.
    Good luck!

Thanks for the replies guys! Ive taken the cluster out and it has been replaced at some point because its newer green plastic. most of the circuits look fine but Ill try sanding them and testing all the bulbs! For some reason theres a second ground wire coming out of the plug but it was snipped. Should I remove that, or circuit it back in?..
