After a couple of weeks of fitting the crank, filing rings, hanging pistons etc., I finally put the short block together so I can get back to driving this thing in the not too distant future. Still need cam, lifters, springs, retainers and oil pan to finish up. It's been 7 or 8 years since I last drove the car and I am really looking forward to getting it on the road.
WOW you look like you're up to something serious with that rotating assembly and splayed main caps. What kind of horses are you looking at?
412 inch Windsor - 3.85" stroke, 6.2" rod and 4.125" bore w/ TFS TW R series heads I'll be happy with anything over 600hp.
Only need to get the headers coated and set the valves before I put it in the car. So it's done with the exception of a few bolt on odds and ends.
Fred I am so glad you did not sell your car! Great having you back in the game!!! And just so you know, we talked about you in Joplin
