cars about to get painted here within two weeks and ive been going through pictures and can't quite to decide what color to paint the tail panel, mat or gloss...what do you think? i really wanted to try the mat black but i think it might look cheap if it isn't applied correctly or too thin

I have mat or flat, whatever u want to call it. It was like that when I got the car. I really think a semi/gloss looks better; that's what I used on my grill and rad support. When I redo my tail panel that's what I intend to use.

Semi gloss. The flat will look like primer and water spot really bad.

I saw a new Mustang GT California Special this weekend. It was gloss black with flat black striping. Looked nice. If its good enough for Ford to do it from the factory then its good enough for a Maverick.

did mine in vinyl then i can change it when i get bored with it or as it wears. not the whole panel though. took me forever to decide what to do with the panel. over a year after it was painted.

SEM Trim Black, striped and blacked out many parts on my car. Been squirting cars for 25 years and have not found a better product for appearance and durability. It's very close to an old school ford stripe and blackout as far as sheen. One quart and the act/red. will run you about 70 bucks well worth it.

I really like that vinyl idea but I don't think I have enough skills to do that part of it. So semi gloss will be the winner once I get back from a fishing trip I'll order it up.. Should be able to buy a small amount from the place
