I emailed the "local" mustang shop with a chassis dyno, and he wrote this back...

Sounds to me like he is going to just let me play with it and do the tuning???

Anyway, all I am bringing at this point is a screwdriver and my jets and power valves.

Anything else I need to bring or do to prepare?

First time at this. I don't want to show up and not have something I need and make it a wasted trip.

I knew it would come up...:p

I guess since the screwdriver and jet kit is in the car, I may as well drag it along as well.

Make life easier on yourself and make sure you have a good tune-up on it before you go.
Make sure the throttle goes to WOT with the gas pedal on the floor.
A spare rebuild kit for the carb is good in case a gasket should tear.
A set of new plugs (extra) in case you have problems (fuel or bad plug)
Tools to install all of the above.....

    Gaskets. Really good idea.

See, that is why I asked!

Tool box has a spare plug, but I guess I should bring some more.

I would LIKE to see 300-350, but expect to see closer to 250 at the ground.

Good call on the timing light and vacuum gauges. Going to the garage to put those in right now.

Starting new thread about timing lights.

And the guy quoted me $95 per hour with an estimated 2 hours, but then said on email that he would just show me how to use the dyno and give me hints on tuning, and let me go, so I have no idea how much this will cost. I am bringing $200...

I know you can't carry everything and it's not tune related, belts?

a Dyno gives you..."real time information"...
the first statement i hear from people..."it should have done better than that"...
..then...if i do this or if it had this or if the air had been different.
(a lot of the same chatter you hear at the track)

fact is..."it did what it could do"...with what it is...

my biggest disappointment was when the Dyno guy set the machine up wrong and still charged me...
dyno sheet read...93MPH at 8900RPM w/3:55 gear and 26" tires.
i told him that couldn't be right and he said..."that's what everyone thinks".

get it done and have fun...:thumbs2:
