Since the wife was throwing a wedding shower at the house, I decided it was a great opportunity to take the Mav out to the drags and see how it would do. I have just a stock 250 with c-4 and was expecting to run in the 20 second range but was surprised to run low 18's...my best being 18.17 at 74 mph. I haven't raced in over 14 years but decided to run in the street trophy bracket. I was the slowest car in the field but made it to the semi-finals, losing to a 12 second Corvette . I can't feel too bad since I made an error in judgement at the far end of the track. It didn't look like he was going to catch me so I let off slightly at the mph light...oops...I should have realized how fast he would be moving by then and he slipped past me right at the finish line. Oh well, better luck next time! :D

Don't feel bad, Gene. Years ago I took my daily beater ('82 Ford EXP) to the track on Wednesday night for the test & tune deal. I was bored. Ended up entering the Jackpot race. Dialed in with a sizzling 21.35!!!!! They thought I was kidding. First round I come across a friend of my Dad. He's in his dragster.....with 575" of alcohol injected big block Mopar. His dial? A 7.85. I waved at him when we pulled to the ready line....he shook his head and flipped me off. I swear...I was past the 1000 ft clocks when his side of the tree came down. Went by me at the stripe with a 7.855 at 185 mph to my 21.375 at 66 mph. It was so damned funny I couldn't get ticked about losing. I even tree'd him with a .015 to his .022 light. :D
