nhra has a program this year called the "et challenge". each track can pick 4 races in the summit racing series to race for a wally and a jacket. my track picked races #2,#4,#6, and #8. there was some confusion as to the race #'s. got settled today. the track manager called me and the nhra division 7 director e-mailed me and confirmed those races. i went to the finals in #2,#4,and#6. race #8 is on june 24th. i'm 70 points ahead of the guy running second and there's only 61 points available at race #8. :bananaman  :bananaman

the wally is a trophy given out to race winners by the nhra. it's named after the nhra founder wally parks. until a few years ago the only people that won them were national event winners like force, garlits and others. for bracket racing these are pewter color rather than gold. i got one last year by winning the national dragster challenge race. that race is coming up this weekend again. i really hate to seem greedy BUT.:D

I don't know if this four race series is the same as it has been for the last several years in division 4, but if it is you will get a gold wally. Division 4 has a goodguys challenge where each track selects four races with two catagories- electronics and no electronics. The winner of the race will get 87 points, runner up 65, semi finals 43, and quarter finalists 21. At the end of the four races, the racer with the most points from whichever track in each catagory gets a leather jacket and a gold wally at the banquet in January. If there is a tie between two or more racers, there is a runoff at the bracket finals to determine the winner. I won no electronics in 2004 by one point. I also got two gold wallys for winning no electronics race of champions at the bracket finals in 2001 and 2005.

if it is gold that would be cool. then i'd have one in silver and one in gold. RegL404, congratulations on your wins. i know the race of champions is the best of the best. i lost in the roc last year on a double breakout in the 2nd round. the guy i lost to went on to win it. this year they've changed the format for the roc to include the top 4 finishers in each class from each track. so instead of say 16 tracks/16 entrants, it will be 16 tracks/64 entrants. i'll definitely be in it as i'm 4 rounds ahead with only 2 races to go. i'm hoping to go some rounds and pad my lead going into the final race. the guy in 5th can't catch up to me so i'm guaranteed a top 4 finish. the rest is up to me to win or lose. either way the last 2 years have been great for me. :)

If you are asking me, then yes. I have won three gold and two pewter ones with my '75 four door. I also won one pewter one with my '72 two door.
