As a lot of you know,I got the Mav. on the street last week,and as I mentioned on another post months back I had a '65 Mustang 25 spline output Toploader in it,and on some of the ""sneak it up the roads" it sounded like it had marbles in it! Another Mav. guy near me said he might sell his, he took out and put a 572 and C-6 in his,so after a couple days of thinking about it he decided to sell 302 with trans,and I have about 6 302s laying around so I called a friend of mine that is a Ford dealer,and plays with Mustangs and Cobra Torinos,he said he had 3 or 4,come on up,I took a sheet from David Kee with me with all the "RUG" #s and got one from a '70 351 Cleavland Mustang,he said stick it in and if it's anygood give me 250.00! Three hours later I"m out twistin that 357 outa the frame! Shifts great,nice and quiet,man I'm really happy with it,especially at that price,thought I'd have to give 500-700.00 for a good one,and it's a 28spline output shaft wide ratio,which is just what I wanted....well gotta go pound some more gears,Jack
Wow, that's a steal! Rebuilt ones with the Mustang shifter locations are usually north of $1K on EBay
Too bad you're not a little closer. We could go cruizin together and rip up some roads. Congrats on the tranny. I love my 4 speed.
