Got the D1DE for the Hose ... and to reproduce the original engine compartment markings I got a D4 for the Cowl and an L-N for the Fender ....
I bet I know what is next.....paint daubs and some inspection marks with chalk! You are waaaayy ahead of me Dan. Slow down! I still can't find a orange over white Motorcraft battery just for shows! Seth
Well ... except for those two stamps in my engine compartment I have no references for chalkmarks and paint daubs on my car ... .... So I'm not gonna make any up. I may stripe the springs like Ralphs car and that should do it .... Even on Ralph's original car there are no visiable daubs or chalk marks ... accept the yellow dot on the valve cover. He undercoated his car with his dad's "secret recipe" so I am assuming all his undercarriage marks are covered ...
Hey Dan....You going to loan those out? My 1972 Grabber also had the "P" "T" and other plain white stickers on it. 2 were on the trunk lid. I have pictures of it somewhere.
I'm not very patient either. After about 20 practice stamps on an old hose it took another 20 or so stamps on the Autolite repop hose to get it looking just right. And the other stamps were really a pain. The paint stuck much better to the rubber stamp than to the nice shiny clearcoat. It took about a dozen tries on both the fender and cowl stamp to get it looking decent. Either not enough paint would stick to the car or too much would come off and smudge ... On the D4 stamp I finally figured out the best way was to do it quick just like they would have done on the assembly line ... I was originally laying it down slow and steady, wiggle it a little, and then remove slow and steady ... that did not give results as good as just doing it quick.
Sure ... just pay postage if anyone needs them. Or if you prefer I can post the Graphic Files ... the stamps were less than $10 each .... I have the OK, D1DE, D4, L-N graphics ... I'd like to see the stickers ... I see them on Mustangs all the time and they are available from all the Mustang parts houses. Obviously Ralphs Canadian built Grabber doesn't have them. Was your Grabber a Kansas City car? Did you have the yellow stamps like mine on the Cowl and Fender?
Yup ... not sure if you can see in the picture but the D4 on the cowl was very smudged ... you can actually see the entire outline of the stamp since it must have been loaded with paint.
