Went to a local cruise in tonight and had a guy Older than me explain that the Cobra ll Mustang that had just pulled in had a really weak 302 from the factory. I told him yea around 140 HP , Mavericks had the same engines. He said " Well yea, the later ones did , but they made a "Grabber GT" Maverick with the 300 Horse 302 in it...and they would fly!:slap:

I said Mine is an early one and it is a Grabber, it had around 140 Horsepower.

He said "Well what year is yours"? I said "Seventy Two "

He said "Well sure, they only put the 300 Horse engine in the 1970 and 1971 models ...Yours woulda had the smog motor in it. NOTHING was fast after 1971. ":biglaugh:

Something tells me that he read the wrong book. :tiphat: My 70 torino had a 351 cleveland 4v and it had 300 hp but no factory 302's to my knowledge.
