Ok I know repairs on this has been posted b4. What I asking is your opinion if they are worth repairing vs buying one in good shape. I believe I have the fabrication skills to save the hood from cutting pieces from a stock hood I have as you can see in the pichures the lip is rusted out badly and the left rear corner looks to have had about 3/16 to a 1/4 inch of Bondo. The spoiler is cracked & in rough shape one stude holder is missing and one stude is broken flush with holder. The spoiler was pot riveted on a 76 maverick I bought for parts. Your option is appreciated.
Can get a new hood for $499 and shipping from Melvins and put your hood scoops in it. Probably repair the spoiler, if you would rather have that then a custom fab. Depends on how much the original stuff is worth to you.
For the amount of time and labor it would take you to repair the Grabber hood, I would recommend buying the new reproduction Grabber hood. Be sure to save and reuse the scoops as they are not reproduced. http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/new-reproduction-grabber-hood.106292/ As for the spoiler, it can be saved and repaired. http://3mcollision.com/products/pla...repair/3m-400ml-rigid-parts-repair-08275.html
IMO that spoiler looks really rough. It depends on how much time/patience/money you have or are willing to spend. Personally I would keep the scoops sell the hood to somebody else for cheap and put it towards a reproduction hood. If your going to do the work on the spoiler you might as well just fabricate your own probably be the same amount of effort unless you are going for the factory look.
I'd say ditch the hood, keep the scoops, buy a new hood and lastly, it looks like you've got nothing to lose if you try and fix the spoiler...
Im going to try to fix both because its like you said what do I have to lose & if I fail I can just buy a new hood & spoiler. I've got plenty of time my work is seasonal & I'm off work for the next couple months.
