Grabber Taillights

    I have a 1972 Grabber Drak Green and Lime green stripes... my tail light houseings are chrome... I was reading that they SHOULD be black. Is that true or was that just an option for black taillight houseings. If they WERE black i want to get some.. I want this car as original as possible...

    you could always sand them down and paint them black like i did.

    1971 Grabbers were black....1972 Grabbers were chrome :)

    If you go with black.....find someone that can powder coat them....they will start nicer much longer than paint. JMO :)

    we need the concourse guys opinion...i thought all 72 Grabbs were chrome.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    They were chrome on all Grabbers.....EXCEPT the ones that had a black tail panel.

    Breakdown:

    70 Grabbers: Chrome taillight bezels. Period.
    71-72 Grabbers: Chrome taillight bezels if a stripe/taillight panel color other than black. Black panels got black bezels, any other color got chrome bezels.
    73+ Grabbers: I'm not sure on these, but it looks like they might all be chrome even with black stripes. Can anyone confirm?

    I have only seen chrome bezels on 1973 and up Grabbers.
