    Won't fit...I tried a '76 Granada sway bar is a good 2" too wide.

It's too wide for the Maverick/Comet (and anyone who claims otherwise is a fool).

Some late-model Mavericks had a bigger front bar that you may be lucky enough to find, otherwise just get one from Addco.

I would have figured it might be too wide to mount up in the stock location on a Maverick but do you think it might fit if the mounting holes were moved 1 inch outboard on each lower control arm?

It's also bent wrong to get clearance around the strut rod bracing and frame rail. Maybe a 65-6 Mustang sway bar is bend closer to a Maverick sway bar, but the Mustang is also too wide for a direct fit

The metal isn't as thick as it is at the original mounting location.

I put a 67 mustang sway bar on my car, but, the mounting holes are in the wrong location so I made a bracket to move the holes and then it was too wide overalll so I drilled new holes in the lower control arm but then was too close to the strut rod mount so I had to notch the bushing. Then it worked but now it rubs on the strut rod where the bend in the sway bar is:slap: Its been that way for about 6 years probably not right which is why I recently got the correct sway bar for my car and need to install

I took a closer look and I see why it wont work ,I never doubted anyone just wished I had this info before I bought it,its one of those cases were it was a 50-50 chance ,I thought of well if I don't get it and it would have worked I would be sick,by any chance can you guys tell me if the upper and lower control arms are the same, this guy has the whole front suspension out of a grananda ,the disc brake spindles and dust shields are still there ,I could go back and get the spindles which I do need disc on the 72 mav just didn't wanna hunt up all the brake parts individually

Definitely get the disc brake stuff.
Grab the spindles, the calipers (which can be rebuilt), and the front brake lines.
You'll want new rotors and master cylinder.

I kind of did the same thing buying a really nice used powder coated 1 inch bar that originally came stock on a Mustang II King Cobra - figured it would work on the Maverick because all of my suspension is now Mustang II but wasn't thinking that my front wheel track is still narrower than the MII - same thing - bar too wide

The spindles and dust shields are the most important parts. Grab 'em.

All the other stuff is available new. The front hardlines should still be on the car, so if they are, get those too.

I had no idea a Mustang-II had a wider track.
