Anybody has changed the original steering wheel for a Grant wheel? I bought one but can not find the adaptor. Part number would help or any other leads are much apretiated:Handshake
Wouldn't the same adapter for a 70-73 Mustang work. I thought I had read that some where here. Have you tried searching the forum yet?
Here's one thread I found: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=15013&highlight=steering+wheel+adapter Look on the last page. Part # 3249
If there is a number on the adapter I can look at the one that was on my car and tell ya what it is. Might even be the same as an early Falcon, Rustang.
I am pretty sure that it is the same adapter for most Fords from the late 60s through the 70s. Once you get to the Fox body cars, I believe that changed. They can be a bit tricky to get the horn right. Once you press the horn button on, give it about an 1/8" turn to keep it locked in place.
How far is henderson from nashville ? I will be in nashville in the third week of january (1 14 09 ) If you want I will bring you a complete Grant Wheel . jay
I just went out and looked I have got the wheel and the adapter BUT no horn button . If you still want it pm me . jay
i've had the horn clips come of before on another adapter made of metal... yeah that was really fun with all the sparks... lol! i dont have a horn on the car anymore... chamber mufflers are enough to say... get out of my way. lol!
I know what you mean ... I have had the "lapfull of sparks" thing happen to me too. Another favorite of mine with these is when you install the horn adapter a little off-center. The horn honks everytime you hit the same spot turning the wheel... three wheel spins in a turn ... "honk...honk...honk".
