Very soon I will have in my possesion a 1976 Mecury Comet, it was my best friends and unfortunatly it was neglected sence he went away to the Navy. I am excited to get it and can't wait to put it under cover where it belongs and I can start to restore it. I love forums like this because it the best place to get alot of peoples opinions on different car questions.
My first question is about the canvas top on the car. On it is a white canvas covering the top. I noticed on alot of the pictures they don't have this, is this a factory option or is this an aftermarket upgrade. Just wondering, Thanks alot.

    Howdy and:Welcome:
To answer your question.....yes. Vinyl tops were a factory option and there are businesses out there that can put them on if the factory didnt.

It has one on it, and it will probley need to be redone. I know a place that can do it and I was wondering what I should expect to pay. Also the seats are going to need to be done, they are bench seats, does anybody know what that would run me. Thanks

welcome to the board. be aware one of the problems lots of guys find with the vinyl tops is rust underneath. i think a lot of the people on the board have removed these tops completely. not sure, since all of mine have not had that option.:Welcome:
