I expect there were originally some rubber bushings to cushion the pins on the bottom of the Maverick grill. Can't say if there were any there when I removed the grill many months ago. Anyone know if new ones are available or good substitutes?

I had one on one side of mine. I don't think I ever replaced the other. Was going to look for a grommet at Ace Hardware in their small parts bins. I can't remember if I did or not. Getting old.

New ones are not avaiable. I see NOS ones on ebay every once in awhile. Got to find used otherwise. I wish I knew this before yesterday. :D

So far those are about the only parts for my car that I haven't come with. I was thinking about just welding some pieces in and making the holes round so it would be easier to find grommets.

Right. If we were closer I think I'd be picking up some little thing every week.

Maybe there is some rubber tubing that will glue on to the pin and fit in the hole.

I am thinking about using a hole gromet for wireing. I seen several sizes at Home Depot.

Grommets. Good idea. Just happen to have an assortment.

I think that'll work fine. Not a tight fit in the hole but I think they'll stay in and the grill doesn't shake or rattle because the pins are putting pressure on the sides of the grommets.

    Might be an easy solution.

I got some from AK pt#(AK1013) @ $1.50ea.w/ my latest order. I wud think grommets wud work, also. I don't know if they are the same for Mav's. I have not had chance to install them. I had the grill out a week or so ago but put it back to drive the car to Indiana for the James Dean weekend show, 450mi roundtrip. Since I got back, been fighting a stomach virus and today was the first day I been in the garage.
