I understand that all of the grills from 70 to 77 interchange. My question is this. Is there a difference in the mounting or anything like that between the comets and the mavericks. When I traded for my 73 comet it did not have a grill on it. I am currently looking for one just to cover up the huge gap in from of the radiator. This is going to be a track car only also.

The Maverick grille I had on my car before I got the billet one I have now came off off a '71 a Comet in the junkyard, for what that's worth.

75 & up Comet grills use a different style light, compared to the earlier years. Just make sure you get that extra little piece of plastic, that supports the middle.

Mav and Comet have different grills just like hoods and bumpers. The Mav grill wouldn't look right because it doesn't have the "bulge" like the Comet. You can use a Mav grill on a Comet if you use a Mav hood and bumpers too.
