grille light lens i have two grilles, one has clear lens the other one has clear but frosted ones. could someone tell me the year diff. in these lights?...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
I believe the clear ones were 71 and 72 only. Thats when the lights were considered Sport Lights. Starting in 73 when they became running & turn lights, I believe they were frosted from then on.
Ours was frosted until I replaced them, they were frosted from all the sand and stuff hitting them. When I pulled them apart the lens under the T bar was clear. The 73 car we got to fix our car had amber grill lenses for the turn signal, I beleive that from then on they were all amber.
the frosted one has the buckets that have the screw in plug for the 1157 bulb. it has the defused pattern on the lens. that has me thinking that is for the park and turn light. my clear lens are so clear it looks like they are not there. you can see the bulb. from a distance it looks like the lens are broken out. i like the frosted ones because you can see the lens and not the bulb and they are clear and not amber. let me get them in and i will post a pic. of each and we will see if we like the clear or the frosted ones best...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
Usually when I cruise the wrecking yard they have been all amber which doesn't mean anything, I just havn't seen them clear before. Maybe they have been changed to coguar lenses. I think the 69-70 had that type on them as well as the 69 shelby's.
I have seen the frosted grill lenses as well on a Maverick. I think it was just a 1975-1976 thing. Not really sure. I know it was on the big bumpered cars and they didn't have the crosshairs over them.
these have crosshairs. i have a grille with the lights and a set of lights by themselfs...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
