What did they use to mount the grille in these cars? I could get some nuts and bolts but would rather use fasteners or what have you.
On the bottom - there are 2 pins that go into a rubber grommet. The pins often break off but are pretty easy to repair. On the top the 2 outer edges are held in place with a plastic push rivet. Kinda like a big plastic pop rivet. The 2 center locations by the hood latch support are phillips head screws that go into some stamped u-nuts. The right grommets are available from Melvins or AK - the plastic pop / push rivet and the screws with u-nuts can be found at auto stores like O'Riellys
Thanks for that. I went to Ace hardware looking at spring clips but they didn't have the ones that are the same size as what I need to work. I'll check out Melvins for the rubber grommets cause mine are missing. The plastic push rivets should be easy to obtain. Thanks again
From Melvin's catalog - they call them grille clips item #AMK139 And the grommets the pins go into - item #383333S The u-nuts and screws can be found at the auto parts store. The screws formal name is: round washer head tapping screw
