Are all "H" pipes for the exhaust the same? MAC Performance have off road H pipes for late model Mustangs but the guy said it want fit my Comet. Is this correct, because I thought "X" pipes, "H" pipes, & mufflers were universal. I'm looking for an "H" pipes. What do they mean when it says off road "H" pipe too?

The pipes for the late model Mustangs won't fit as made without cutting and adjusting the width etc. The cars a far from the same body design.
Off road means no cats in the assembly.
Non are universal to fit the Mav/Comets.
The headers do not fit and none of the exhaust without modfication.
The closest header that looks like Mustang header is from Hedmon and will fit the Mav with a little mod to the outlet direction and then have custom head pipes made to the X or H pipe you select then to mufflers.
Use short mufflers and put them just in front of the rear end, tucked up into the space close to the floor pan.

Both Summit and Jegs carry a universal X pipe kit. They are not a bolt on item, it will require fabrication.

Thanks for the info, I found a "H" pipe kit at Summit. Crazy me, I don't know why I think things are universal. I also found a kit on Flowmaster web page, its $25 dollars higher. Do you think Summit brand is just a good as Flowmaster?

Kits may use different materials such as aluminized steel pipe or even stainless. Also look at the gauge of the pipe and if they use mandrel bends.

The Summit Kit uses 16 gauge Aluminized Mild Steel, is this good?
It does not say what Flowmaster Kit uses, they are closed right now also.
