Well I am officially the happiest person in the world today.......I have just purchased my first car, a 1970 maverick. Oh, it's perfect and despite its current flaws I see my amazing car hidden underneath. I could almost cry with sheer joy. Yellow with black interior and 65 K original miles (it was a little old lady car). It needs a scrub brush and a little engine work and it'll shine like new. I also wanna put some racing mirrors on it (anybody got any?) but that'll come later. God, if I could find anybody out there happier than me I would be surprised. Thought I just might tell ya'll first. Good day to all and to all a good night......
im still wondering where that maverick farm is out there in georgia:16suspect. congrats on starting with the best car on the road
Welcome to the board. Can't wait to see pics of your car. Oh yeah, I just spotted a set of the sport mirrors on eBay in case you wanna take a look. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8076559837&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Well I actually found it from a guy in blueridge, it was his mothers and so now I'm bringing it on down to Buckhead. And I will surely post some pics as soon as I get it all shined up. Its in desperate need of some soap and a new set of tires. Thanks for the encouragement guys!
Man, I knew before you even said Blue Ridge that you were talking about this car... I took these pics back in January, ring a bell? I noticed when I went by today that they had pulled it around to the side of the building. I figgured they had gave up selling it, it had sat there so long. Congrats! That's a great car you got! Oh, and they told me when I stopped to check on it that it's a '71. The odometer was clearly showing 77,000 miles. Besides new tires, I would go through the brakes also if I were you. From what I heard, they barely work and haven't been serviced in years. But it's a great, rust free car. You couldn't have found a better Mav to start with.
