Haven't posted in awhile, so since its 6 degrees out i figured id dream it was warm and post a pic of my car. Got her into the 12s this past summer with a 12.96. Trying to save my pennies to get some real heads on my 347 and run a little faster. Hoping next season brings me more chances to get to the track. Happy racing everyone

Thanks, right now im running the stock (i think e7) heads, which are suffocating the engine. Plans for the future is heads and cam then ordering a converter to match it all.

Beautiful car olerodder. Ive been debating on trying to find some bumpers for my car.

Question for you guys, ive been running a gate shifter and have had problem with going into neutral instead of third and its clearly my fault due to lack of experience and releasing the lockout and not holding it. But i considered switching to a ratchet shifter and eliminating the chance of the problem. What are you guys running and which one have you had more luck with. Thanks guys

    It's a 10/15' car, but thanks.
This picture had the fiberglass bumpers on it and I put the originals back on since 20lbs really doesn't mean much to me.
Since I run a Powerglide I'm not sure my input would be of much help but
if I changed it would for one of these..........

H/C/I and matching converter should easily put you well into the 11's.

Thats what im hoping. Me and my dad built it mild at first since id had never been drag racing before and wanted to get a bunch of runs on the car and get use to it before i started throwing more money into it. I feel comfortable enough withe car now and now im itching to go faster haha

It's not too cold to race here...we just don't have any drag strips any more! I HATE this! But Firebird (aka Wild Horse Pass) is supposed to re-open next month. Then all will be right with the world again.

In my opinion the best shifter for racing is the winters style shifter,
also sold as a cheetah. ati, turbo action, its very simple, not a lot of moving parts, and with a reverse pattern valve body, easy to put into neutral from 3rd without downshifting, wich is nice on a return rd when you shut a car off to coast.

Tony Wild Horse Pass will be open this Friday and the first Summit race is on Saturdays. I think I got the new comet ready ,I may have to change the jets since the only place I was able to test was Tucson. I just wish Speedworld was still open. Matt

I can't agree more. I really miss Speedworld. I can't even bring myself to go out to see it all torn down. I had been going there since I was 15 years old. It was the second place I ever raced right after Beeline. For those that don't know, Beeline was torn down way back in the early 80's.

I am going to try to get out to WHP on Friday. I'll see you there Matt!
