Finally got the disc brake conversion and new front end suspension parts install done, so broke down and got the 72 Grabber to the paint shop today. I have been sanding and taking off parts for the last month or so, we'll see how it turns out. Nothing fancy, just going back with the original paint color, med. bright yellow. It's an all original 72 302 Auto, colume shift grabber, with factory console and high back buckets. Runs good, but have a rebuilt carbed 5.0 roller cam HO engine with rebuilt C4 ready to go in it next. It going to be my daughters car as soon as she gets her license, so nothing too hot performance wise, pretty much original. We hauled it down to Albuquerque to drop off and picked up my neighbors 48 Ford at the same time. They did a great job on the 48, so hoping the Mav turns out as well! Working on my 69.5 to get it ready next, it will be my toy, so much healther SBF and toploader with 9" rear. Looking forward to driving something with a 4-speed again.

Actually, that is incorrect. In 1971 the "consolette" option became available, normally with the usually "non-working" electric clock. Not a whole lot of room to store much more than some sun glasses and a pair of gloves, but a locking console all the same.
    Thanks for looking, Farmall

Yes mavericks could have a consollette but never a console.

    The Grabber back from paint!

Well, I now know what 1972 Bright Med. Yellow looks like, and luckily it matched the original paint (in the jams and under the hood) real well. Now the putting it back together task begins, then a new engine, trans. and seat covers. I was pretty pleased with the paint job, it was an inexpensive one stage, but turned out really well. Much better then I had anticipated. I did most of the prep before we took it in, and still have to shoot the rear panel and front stoneguard matt black. Anyway, it certainly looks better and my daughter is getting more excited, since it will be her car when she gets her license. I can't decide what wheels to put on it yet, thinking vintage alum. slots. Still have to add the grabber stripes, black and black in the hood center. More later...
Enjoy whats left of the holiday weekend.

    Thanks 71,
I plan to do the black grabber stripes, not sure if I will paint or use the tape, but think I will paint the black part on the hood. I do like the chrome magnum 500's, but all I have are the 14" painted ones, so still not sure which way to go there. Thanks for your input and encouragement.
    Sincerely, Farmall
