Whats the differences in Aftermarket T5 shifters? It seems like the range in price very dramatic, from anywhere around 200 to all the way down to 50.
is there at much differences in construction?

I don't see why you would get yelled at for it. There are many differences and preferences. Some have stops designed in them and if they don't, they're not any better than the stock one. I personally like the Steeda Tri-ax and alot of my friends and customers like the Pro 5.0 as well.

I noticed the throw being shorter with my hurst shifter. The biggest difference is not having the rubber bushing on the shifter handle, make it feel much more solid without it.

if used alot of the different shifters offered. my personal favorit is the pro 5.0. its spring loaded to favor shifting between 1 2 3 and 4. the steeda is my next fav. its spring loaded more centered and easyer to hit 5th. if you drag race i recomend the pro 5.0. if your just a street driven car the steeda.

usually bolts with jam nuts that make them adjustable mounted to the front and back of the retainer that prevent overtravel of the shift lever. This feature protects the shift forks and synchronizer assemblies from damage when shifting hard or "power shifting".

see that bolt sticking out of the ring at the base of the shifter? there is 2 nuts on it and the bolt is adjustable to sit right against the shifter and it does what's described above.
