i've got a 6cyl. and was wondering how the 16th head bolt is. on one mav its like a double ended bolt and i can't figure it out for the other mav. the bolt of whatever was already out and i have two brackets that i think one goes to the a/c.what are the dimensions for the bolt and does autozone have them?

I'm not much on 6 bangers, but...

Is this under the valve cover or do you even know that?
If not, is it a groundstrap mounting stud as well as a
    head bolt?

Check that and see, I'll look in my Chilton's if I get a chance.

its not under the valve cover. and its the closest bolt to the front. i think that there is a bracket to the a/c compressor that goes on the top part.

You are correct Will...it is an AC bracket hook-up location.
