I'm in the middle of changing fenders on my 74, using 70-72 fenders. Are the headlight buckets differant? The adjustering screws on the 74 are on the outside, and the bottom, but the adjusting screws are the on the top and outside of the small bumper fenders. Do I need the headlight buckets from the small bumper fenders? If so, Anyone have any laying around? along with the adjuster "nuts". I got bare fenders with no headlight assemblies. HELP. Russ

Yes, they are different. one of Ford's better ideas. :slap: I ran into the same problem when I installed fiberglass fenders that came without buckets. Managed to find an old pair of fenders that I drilled out the spot welds and removed the buckets.

I just went through the same thing with my daughter's Maverick.

The bucket, and the attachment screws as well as thier locations are different! Luckily I had a set of the older buckets and hardware.

Still easier than knotching the fender! lol

He said let there be light and there was light. And it was good!!! Got 'er back together. I seams as thought I put on 76-77 fenders tha were knotched for the small bumpers. I ended up useing headlight buckets out of a Merc. Monarc. They fit. Whooo hoooo. :bananaman Russ
