What is the best way to gain some header room for a 351?

I am about to swap the heads on my 351 to some that really breath and I need something a little bigger than the 1 1/2" headers that are on the car now.

I would really like to keep the stock suspension on the car.

Does the shelby drop move the control arm down enough to remove the lower section of the shock tower?

    Thanks for the help

Crites (hard to get at the moment) and Hooker make 351w headers in 1.75" primary.
The Hooker needs little tweaks to the engine bay to get it in. The Crites is said to go straight in.

    Are your towers shaved?
That gives you room to get to the headers and spark plugs.
Anyway, the point is a tower shave, Hooker swap headers, and a bit of grinding here and there in the engine bay, and you can have 1.75" tubes.

Or you can swap to a 351c and get 2" tubes.
