I'm looking at a set of Hooker 6901-2HKR headers and just wondering if anyone else has them and how do they like them. I have power steering so I am a little concerned with clearance issues. How difficult are they to install and how close do they come to the side pillars, would it be best to use header wrap to keep the paint from burning off?
Just need the drop down braket for the power steering. 6901s seem to be one of the favorites on here.
Hooker does not warranty any header when any kind of wrap is applied. The wrap holds moisture against the header and they rust away very fast - Don't use wrap.
Why are they painted? You don't think stainless can corrode? The warning is on the Hooker website - I am just passing it on.
Stainless does not prevent moisture corroding it. I've had to replace several joints of stainless pipe(sc40) not tube, that has corroded in a steam heat application. Heat & water tear up all kindsa stuff.
