Ive always wanted to put headers on my car and the pipes are about ready to fall off anyways(Colorado winters), so I decided to shop around for a new set of both. The first place I went to quoted me over $1400 for everything with installation.:eek3: I later asked him the cost of just installing the pipes (2 1/4" out the back w/flowmasters) and he still quoted me over $600. According to the reviews on google this place is the cheapest in town. Does this seem a little bit overpriced to anybody?

Depends on the materials used and the quality of the work. 350.00 to 400.00 is about right for my area for mandrel bent aluminized pipe and standard mufflers on a dual setup.

$1400 could be a good price for the Springs. It all depends on what brand headers, type of pipe and hangers they are using. You need to get all this info in order to compare pricing, apples to apples thing. I had 2 1/4 duals w/flow masters and chrome tips from the collectors back installed on my 65 Stang about 10 years ago and it was a little over $500 and that was with my garage discount.

I called up a buddy of mine (also a fellow board member) and he told me that he will install the headers at his shop and then take it down the street to get the pipes installed. Its gonna cost me about half of what it would at that other place. On a college student salary I cant exactly afford top of the line stuff, so any way to make the price go down is OK with me.

I paid $100 for ebay Hooker headers 6901, barely used. Drove open headers to the muffler shop and for $300 more got me dual exhaust with two Flowmaster Super44s, installed.

I even shopped around on the mufflers/installation and chose a guy that was not the cheapest, after hearing that he did better work.
