Chuck, I have done it twice. First turned a 67 Camaro RS SS from a blue interior to black, seats, doorpanels wore off quick, headliner was good until the car was sold some 5 years later. Did a 63 VW from a tan to white, turned out really good. Both times I used rattle can fabric dye. If I were to do it now, I would go to an autoparts paint store and get the dye. It comes in Qts and ready to spray. Get your headliner clean and mask the rest of the interior.

My dad did it twice in his Comet. In the mid 80's he changed it from the factory Avacado green to black. Then in the mid 90's he changed it again from black to silver. Spray painted it both times. Looked factory.

I just dyed my new vinyl front seat from brown to black, looks good. The paint stinks for a while so if your doing the whole interior take out what you can when you do it so you dont stink up your car

That would be kind of pointless if there is nothing wrong with the one that's already in there and you aren't takeing your windows and stuff out.
