Hi! I,m new here. I still have a broken heart over the loss off my Maverick 26 years ago. It was a 1976 2 door, dark green, 200cid, 3 speed on column. If I remember right it did not have a maverick log or name any where on it. Was this usual? Also is there any way to track it down by the first reg. owner? Oh the memories that I have with that car.... :evilsmile
If you know someone such as a police officer and you still have the VIN, they can run the VIN and if it's still around it will show who it's registered to and where. Someone did it for me on my dad's Comet a couple of months ago. Heck, post the VIN here. Several Ohio guys on here, ya never know...
that sucks try what jamie said i'll probally work my dad also lost his 70 mav and 73 comet when he moved from san diego to the inland empire hope u find it and good luck
I still have the title on my first Comet. I am afraid to check the VIN, cuz if it is around I might go nuts tryin to aquire it!
I know what you mean. I had one of only 499 1972 Hurst Olds Hardtops made (100+ convertibles). I'd love to track that one down - but I'd be sick that I couldn't buy it at what they go for these days - IF it's still around.
My mom's second car was one of the 100 Convertables. My grandpa got rid of it because it was rusted so bad back in the late 70's. Her exact car is now 100% restored and in some museum in Inidana or somewhere. She said that is still her most favorite car she has ever had (her first car was a red '65 Mustang Convertable, 3rd car was a black '77 Corvette)
I was in college (no income) and the big 455 kept blowing head gaskets. I felt bad about the money my dad was having to pay for me to go to school and to furnish me a car like that and then have it be so expensive to maintain. My Dad was NOT a wealthy man at the time. I traded it in on a (.... are you sitting down?) 1976 Chevette.
Welcome to the board,,, hope you find your car....Rick,, I think the chevette is the only vette to own. Dan
