Hi all. First of all, again, thanks to all who helped me locate a heater core for my Sprint.

Okay, I have the core, but when I am looking in the book, it shows an elbowed type of rubber hose inside the car, and also a round (what looks to be foam rubber) gasket to seal between the heater ass'y and the upper part of the car itself.

Where do I get that elbowed hose, and will that gasket fall apart when I take it out?

    Are those gaskets available new?

As to the hose, do I just find someone who has a 90 degree heater hose and cut it to size? I am sure I can't just bend a regular heater hose, as it will undoubtedly kink.

    Hmmmmm.

Thanks in advance for any help. Just want to have what I need once I take this thing apart.

Jack, the guy who has yet to change a Maverick heater core.:hmmm:

The gasket your refering to is not reproduced unless there is a Mustang equivalent. But I havent seen any. It is made of foam rubber and should be ok to reuse. As far as an elbow, there is none. The heater hose comes in the car, turns the 90 degrees and attaches directly to the heater core. It wont kink.

BTW, did you check out the Sprint registry?

    jack,
    nothing special needed...
is this an a/c car? do you have a pic. of the heater core you can post?
when you pull the box the heater hoses come to the inside with it. you might want to give them some slack before you drop the box. might be a good time to replace them.:yup: ...frank...:bouncy:

I believe National Parts Depot has the seal you are looking for. It is parts of their heater case gasket set.

www.npdlink.com Mustang Catalog under Heat and Air Conditioning same as 69-70 Mustang

    A big Thanks

Hi all. A big thanks to all who replied to my question about installing my heater core. I now know what to get and what to do.

    Thanks again all. (y)

    Jack.

P.S. Mavaholic, I haven't been avoiding your question as to the registry the last few times I have been on here. I just need to ease up and take the time to get the numbers and picture. I will come through.
