I just went through the process installing Hedman Headers 88400 for my 74 Ford Maverick 302 build. All I can say is...its a total nightmare. You have to totally rework the passenger side header, I had to smash the #2 exhaust tube almost 1/2 way in to fit inside the tower, I had to pie cut the flange part of the header almost 1 full inch in !!! And it still is a bear for being too close to the firewall. The driver side header collector hits my pitman arm when turned totally to one side. I will have to pie cut my collector about 1 inch on that side also !!!!! One good thing about them is... they do fit with my column shift linkage ! But if I knew then, what I know now, I surely wouldnt purchase these headers for my 302 ford Maverick. You can check out the header modification on my youtube channel ROCKINRONGARAGE. Look for the newer videos for this one. Sorry Hedman, I just have to give my real opinion on these headers. Thank you.

Why didn't you send them back to Hedman? IMHO if i buy something and i have to reengineer it to work then it's not the correct part.

I put a set of Hedman shorty headers 2018 had no issues on pass side, slid right in from bottom, only had move idler arm away from frame with all heater and ac hoses in place. Drivers side hits pit arm restricting full left turns. I believe most if not all shorty's needs mods to clear pit arm. I don't see any listings for Maverick units on websites, so, maybe Hedman changed listing making supposedly universal fitment --- Not fitting anything without issues.
I been following your Maverick build.

Same ones are on my steering column auto shift, same conflict with pitman arm - exhaust shop resolved the matter with some denting.

Yes sir, I just finished my drivers side exhaust. I had to pie cut the connector pipe to clear the pitman arm. But it worked out good. Exhaust is done. But I didn't record a video for it. :(. There will be a follow up short video on my channel. Rockinrongarage on YouTube
