My name is Rick. I'm new here, and I don't have a Maverick yet, but if I find something close enough that I can afford (LOL...yeah right), then I'm game. Honestly, the main reason I'm on here right now is I'm on quite a few message boards, but since I rebuilt my computer the other day, I lost over 100 links to the boards I was a part of. So, since I can't find the document I printed out with all the names of the links on it, I have to start over. I'm looking for a good running (pref. lower mileage) 302 and C4 for a Ranchero my grandfather gave me 10 years ago. Since noone around my town can be trusted anymore, my Ranchero has been raped of alot of parts, and the engine is now locked up because someone was so cheap as to steal a used distributor. So now I'm wanting to restore the car (or the best I can doing it myself, anyway) and get it back on the road to show my grandfather how much it really means to me. I don't have cash for it, but I'm looking to trade my '86 T-Bird Turbo for it, if anyone's interested in doing some trading, and is either close enough for me to borrow a truck and pick it up, or someone who can deliver it for me. Anyway, as my custom user title states, I have a redneck car lot. For those that don't know what that is, it probably means you're not a redneck. LOL It means that you have at least 5 or more cars sitting in your driveway, at least half of them do NOT run, and you can't/won't get rid of any of them. I look forward to being a part of the community, and hopefully soon I can get a Maverick. My dad had a '72 or '73 Grabber 302 when he was around 20 or so. Pretty fast from what he told me. Maybe I'll get that lucky. Rick
Howdy and welcome. Sorry, cant help ya out with a motor but am interested in your project. What year Ranchero? I have a 57 that will eventually have the drive train from a 93 mustang. Good luck on your Maverick quest.
Howdy back, and thanks! It's a '62 Ranchero. Here's a pic of when I first got it:It's my baby! When I first picked it up it had a 289 K-Code engine, C4, limited slip rear, steel wheels/wire wheel covers, and alot of other unique mods. Cooler built into the bed, carpeted bed (marine carpeting), custom tonneau cover, dash was molded in the center to fit a 3" tach, extra chrome (speaker/heater vent grille, glove box door), true dual exhaust, and some body fabrication, too ('79 Mercury Bobcat grille, bumper, and lights on front). Did I mention it would run over 145 with the 289 K-Code engine? Rick
