Hi I'm a newbie and know almost nothing about these cars except I've always liked Torino's and Grabber Mavericks and Comet GT's and am looking forward to learning a little more about them. I am a Mopar guy though and have been since before I was driving going way back. My first car was a 70 RR (still have it but it needs TLC) and I've primarily owned Mopars my entire life. A, B, and C's. Mostly B's though.

To be upfront and forthright I have a few parts my father left behind, mostly Mopar but I do have some Magnum style wheels I need to move on so that other may survive so I'll post them in the for for sale area .. any suggestions, offers, PMs, etc will be appreciated. And if I'm doing anything wrong let me know. I'm not new to car forums but am new here.

I'm in in the STL metro area in Mascoutah, IL on the Illinois side and the parts are presently near Salem, IL but I could bring them over to where I live if more convenient if you are near or I'll ship most items anywhere.

    Thanks guys! Nice cars :)

I had a buddy in the AF that had a Grabber Maverick with a 302 4 speed. It was orange if I recall. Pretty cool car but that was about 30 years ago.

Bob, I had a 1973 Gran Torino sport in Medium Copper Metallic with 351C 4V motor years ago myself and was looking at 68-9 Torino's when I was having trouble finding my first RR.

Kind of like this but with the Ford dog dishes and trim rings

Alas I found the RR, and then another, and then another :) Hooked ever since.

My Torino was a 1972 Gran Torino Sport with the scooped hood - Q code 351 CJ 4V with a top loader 4 speed and an "N" case 9 inch open rear with 3.50 gears :thumbs2:

The engine, now a 393, the same 4 speed and the "N" case center section, now with 3.90 gears and a trac lock, is in my Maverick

Mine had a 9" rear with something in the vicinity of 3.50 gear ratio also but was a C6. I wish it had had a 4 speed and the scooped hood. I always thought about grafting a 72 hood on it .. they are really sharp.

    You project sounds really cool.

Other than the drivetrain, I still have that hood from the Gran Torino under my deck but the inside framework is now gone from rust - the outer skin is still good so it might have some value yet
