    Hello everyone!

I've been reading this forum for years since I bought my first Comet. I recently traded the Comet for a Maverick and have been enjoying my project car. So far everyone here has been very helpful when I ask a question.

I look forward to interacting with everyone!

How do we post pictures and signatures? Do we have to post a certain number of times before we are allowed to do so?

    Thanks :)
    Melissa

Woo hoo 7 more posts to go then! Hehehe..

I got this 1976 Maverick about a month ago and it was orange on top and silver on the bottom. I recently changed the silver to a dark purple. Everyone thought I was nuts and then once it was all done it looked spectacular! I wish I did a lighter color purple but I don't want to COMPLETELY torture my boyfriend when he drives it ;)

We also replaced the triangle Holly air cleaner to a 10" Edelbrock to match the carb. Our friend gave us some chrome valve covers from his Mustang and we took the decals off. Its got a 351 Windsor squeezed between to shaved shocktowers. C-4 tranny, shift kit.

When I got the car, it was leaking oil and tranny fluid. We replaced the rear main seal and the hoses on the transmission lines. Then it started leaking right where the line comes out of the tranny. We put teflon tape around it since it was cross-thread and it stopped the leak. THEN I drove it to the paint shop and noticed antifreeze lines on the pavement. So today we are replacing the water pump, thermostat and hoses. Yesterday the radio started acting up! When oh when will this car be my dream car and stop being a money pit? :( I do love her tho - can't wait til the problems stop!

I traded my 1974 Comet for this car. The Comet was all original with 24k miles when she went. She had 19k when I bought her.

I'd really love to get ahold of the guy that built this thing. I need to know what year the motor is. I kknow he lives in NE Pennsylvania. I think he lived on "Ransom Road" - wherever that is. The DMV kept the paperwork from him to the kid I bought it from. But if anyone knows him, hook us up! :)

Hav a good day everyone! Time for school, then work :p
