    Well.....hello
well, the reason im here is, I bought my first car...a 73 maverick with the 250ci L c4 tranny...the only thing unoriginal in the car seems to be that someone, somewhere along the line, for unknown reasons, put a ford 9 inch racing rear end in it....the car cost me $280 dollars..it needs a water pump, left front wheel bearing, carb kit, and the brakes need to be done...the interior is nice, got everything working now...had 3 blown fuses, out of the 6 on the fuse board. im puttin a pretty nifty stereo system in it on the first of next month, and im puttin 600 in it to get it runnin good next month...it has a LOT of power for a straight 6..surprised me, gettin up to 100 mph in a quarter mile..it idles real rough, and only seems to want to run good if the egr stuff is disconnected..but, since its smog exemt, emmissions are the least of my worries...this little car is really surprising me..only car ive ever drivinthat wants to do a burnout in reverse.....but anyways, hello....

I used to have a friend with a mav with that same engine. He LOVED to do reverse gear burnouts!!!! The guy would stick it in reverse, punch the pedal, and spin the wheels all the way down the street!!! There were tire tracks everywhere.

Maybe the person b4 you planned on converting to a 302, and started with a 9 inch rear. Now that you have a 9 inch rear, it would be a shame not to upgrade to a 302. Congrats on your purchase!
