I am new to this forum , but not to restoring old Fords . I have a 1954 f100 panel truck and a 1956Ford F250 pickup . Both where ground up rebuilds . Two weeks ago I was looking at a stash of old cars and trucks with the Ideal of buying another mid fifty pickup , Well there sat a 1974 Maverick , 302 auto , 2 door . It was in good shape without much rust [ small holes in the floor boards ] . I bought a used 1970 in 72 when I was 21 , it was a 240 auto . I never liked the car , not enough power or sporty like a mustang . But I could not kill it, I had it 3 years and it took me from the ski mountains of Canada to the beaches of Daytona , all over new England ,and made many great memories . I have had a desire to find one and rebuild it as a tribute to my youth . So when I asked how much and he said $500 it was on the trailer . He has another 4 door small bumper , that I will get this weekend for parts $300 . I am 63 and lived in upstate N.Y. until I retired and moved to Ga in 2006 . When I bought my first Maverick in 1972 I was working in a Ford garage in Amsterdam NY . I am looking forward to the build and making new friends here .
Welcome from Idaho! Looks like you have a good clean one to start on. There is quite a few forum members in Ga that you will probably meet here. Good looking old 56 3/4 ton and panel. I just sold a 56 -3/4 ton about 3 months ago.
