i need help with my 71 mav! i got a rebuilt 302 engine and all seems ok with it save for one thing: there is no mounting hole for the transmissions linkage on the block like on the engine in my mav now. i was just about to swap parts from my blown engine to the new one and i dont have the money to get the right block so is there hope that i can keep my column shifter? is there a bracket? has anyone put in a different year engine and face this problem? please help as it is biting me. thanks! mike:slap:

Jeg's sells a Lokar linkage that includes a lower steering column bushing...

It's all metal...eliminates the rubber grommets. Check out a catalog or Lokar on the web. Cost about $50.

cheap and easy mod I got that shifter for free from my biscayne but you can get them at an auto parts store for ~ 35 or so they will fit just about anything (I got a C4 auto) I had it hooked up and ready in a couple hours taking my sweet time and long breaks ;)
