in need of seat/shoulder belts, where to look?

My recently purchased 1977 Ford Maverick had it's shoulder belts chopped off. They literally cut the seatbelts right off, what other ford cars had these same belts?

These came out of a 77'Maverick. I don't know what other seat belts would work on a Maverick.

Anybody know if the front seat belt parts like pictured above are the same on both the 2 door and 4 door cars?

    4 door is different.

I have some seat belts like that I can sell. I think I have blue and a lite tan. they are used. Email me if interested.

Has anybody ever had any luck retrofitting the newer retractable shoulder belts (like pictured above) into an older Mav? I have those stupid clip-together units on my '72 that drive me crazy. I have a set of the newer ones but I notice that it would take quite a bit of modifying to make them fit. Anyone ever done it?

    Sam :)

It would take some modifying because the sill plate is shaped different. The retract mechanism is recessed into it.

    Aftermarket...

...do a Google search on seatbelts for early Mustangs.

There are companies that make retrofit seatbelt kits
for older cars that allow you to add a shoulder harness.

You may be on a budget, in which case this may not
    help you.

Try: Mustangs Unlimited.com or look up National Parts Depot.

I have the shoulder straps from my 1970 Maverick that I'm taking out. They're black in color. They are going to be replaced with a 5 point belt one each side.

Let me know if this is what your looking for.
